Moto G4 Play now available in Canada for $0 on contract

Another Moto G4 variant has debuted in Canada, and it's not the relative spec powerhouse of its Moto G Plus counterpart. The Moto G Play is now available at various Canadian carriers, including Bell, Virgin Mobile, Telus, Koodo, SaskTel, and Wind Mobile, for $0 on contract.

Barely meeting the deadline, it now appears that the Moto G4 Play is ready for its time in the spotlight, with the device now available in Canada, and set to launch in India on September 6.

Unlike its larger and more powerful siblings, the Moto G4 Play features a 5-inch 720p display, a Snapdragon 410 SoC with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage and a 2,800 mAh battery. While there are downgrades across the board, the Moto G4 Play will offer the same software experience as its counterparts, and will run Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box, the Moto G4 Play is a slight improvement over last year's Moto G3 — at least the one sold in Canada with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage — but it loses a few things in translation, including camera resolution.
In Canada, the Moto G4 Play is available for $0 on contract from all major network carriers in, and if you aren’t looking to get into a 2-year commitment, the device can be picked up at a full price ranging between $199 and $249, depending on the network.
