Samsung set to reveal the cause of the Note 7 fires by mid-January

After 35 reported incidents of overheating smartphones worldwide, Samsung made the unprecedented decision to recall every single one of the Galaxy Note 7 smartphones sold. That's said to be 1 million of the 2.5 million that were manufactured.

After the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 was recalled in October, Samsung opened an investigation to find out what caused the problems. Samsung originally thought the fault was in the battery, but using different batteries only caused a second recall. The investigation continued. Until now.

Samsung has been trying hard to figure out what exactly caused the Note 7 to catch on fire. Initially, the company thought that the battery was to blame. After the first recall of the devices, Samsung found a new battery supplier and restarted the Note 7 sales. But unfortunately, that didn’t fix the problem.

According to sources out of South Korea, the investigation is finally over. Samsung will reveal the results later this month. It’s important for Samsung to share their findings. If anyone is going to trust Samsung again, we need to know that they are aware of their faults. That’s the only way they can prevent a disaster like this from happening again. Of course, we’ll be here to report on the findings later this month.
